Having endured a nuclear winter, humanity is no longer the master of this world. Species have mutated, and survival resources are scarce, leaving people to face an unpredictable future and environment fraught with constant crises. To protect themselves, humans have erected countless fortifications, yet many still live beyond the walls, eking out a meager existence by hunting in the wild. The protagonist, Ren Xiaosu, and his younger “brother,” Yan Liuyuan, are among them—bound not by blood but by a shared fate, the two grow ever stronger through sheer willpower, and at an unexpected moment, they awaken to superhuman powers. Driven by the need to make a living and safeguard his family, Ren Xiaosu leaves the town where he has always lived and ventures into the Border Mountains. Along the way, he faces attacks from wolf packs, man‑faced insects, and mutant creatures, all while his newfound abilities begin to unfold. Can Ren Xiaosu survive the dangers that lie ahead?

Where it came from
The First Order emerged as part of the rapid expansion of Chinese web-based animation, produced by Tencent Animation & Comics to capitalize on the immense popularity of the source material, an online serial novel of the same name. Released in the ONA format, the series reflects the studio's broader strategy of adapting high-traffic digital literature into visual media to capture the growing domestic demand for domestic sci-fi and supernatural narratives.
The animation reflects a contemporary digital aesthetic, prioritizing high-fidelity character models and cinematic lighting effects to distinguish the production within a crowded streaming landscape. The project was designed to emphasize the dramatic tension of the original story’s post-apocalyptic setting, aiming for a visual tone that balances gritty world-building with the stylized action choreography characteristic of modern Chinese animation.
