Where it came from
The Harvest Night was released in 2002 by NuTech Digital during a period when independent animation studios were increasingly experimenting with early digital-to-video formats. As an original video animation, it served as a standalone project designed to showcase the studio's technical capabilities in combining traditional character aesthetics with emerging computer-generated background elements.
The production sought to create a distinct, atmospheric visual experience, emphasizing lighting techniques that were becoming more accessible to smaller studios at the turn of the millennium. Upon its release, the work was noted primarily by enthusiasts of experimental animation and niche digital media collectors, serving as a snapshot of the industry's transition from analog processes to digital distribution workflows.
