But the girls' journey is far from just fun and games: hard work, sweat, and tears are some of the prerequisites needed to flourish in this industry—and for 765 Pro in particular, a watchful eye out for their rival, the infamous 961 Production.
As the girls' fame grows, however, their time together as a family diminishes, and now the very popularity they sought is threatening to tear them apart. A difficult balance of work and bonding must be achieved, or they risk everyone going their separate ways. The personal and professional ordeals of these idols can't be conquered alone, but with each other's loving support, any obstacle or hardship can be overcome!

Where it came from
The Idolmaster television series was produced by A-1 Pictures and released in 2011, serving as a significant adaptation of the long-running simulation game franchise originally developed by Bandai Namco. The project aimed to translate the complex management mechanics and character-driven narratives of the game into a cohesive serialized story, focusing on the professional and personal growth of the 765 Production idols as they navigate the competitive Japanese entertainment industry.
Atsushi Nishigori directed the series and took charge of the character designs, striving to balance the established visual identity of the games with a more expressive, cinematic animation style suited for television. The series was well received by both existing fans and new viewers, garnering praise for its nuanced character development and its faithful yet elevated interpretation of the source material's hopeful, industry-focused tone.
