The Idolm@ster: Shiny Festa

The Idolm@ster: Shiny Festa was released in 2012 as a series of three original video animation (OVA) episodes produced by A-1 Pictures. These episodes were bundled with the PlayStation Portable rhythm games of the same name, serving as a companion piece to expand the narrative world of the 765 Production idols. The animation was created to celebrate the franchise's ongoing expansion, providing fans with musical-focused vignettes that showcased the character-driven charm established by the 2011 television series.

The visual direction, overseen by the production staff at A-1 Pictures, aimed to maintain the high-energy aesthetic of the rhythm game segments while transitioning into narrative storytelling. The character designs remain faithful to the established series look, emphasizing expressive animation during the performance sequences. Upon release, the OVA episodes were well-received by the dedicated community for their production quality and their success in translating the game's core experience of idol management and musical performance into a serialized visual format.
