"Why should it matter how old you are if you want to start something new?"
The strongest guy around, who also happens to be middle-aged, strives to be an adventurer! Everyone seems to think you should pursue your dreams while you're still young, but there's one man who just can't give up. In a world where most people who become adventurers do so in their teens, a guild employee in his thirties, Rick Gladiator, seeks to become an adventurer instead. After receiving unimaginably brutal training from the legendary party renowned as the strongest on the continent, Orichalcum Fist, he ends up with combat abilities worthy of S-rank status despite starting out as an F-rank rookie!

Where it came from
The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, Trained to Death by the Most Powerful Party, Became Invincible originated as a light novel series written by Kirara Kishima and illustrated by Tea, debuting in 2018. The story emerged from the popular Japanese web novel trend of subverting typical fantasy power-scaling tropes by focusing on a protagonist who starts his heroic journey late in life, specifically at the age of thirty, rather than during his formative teenage years.
The 2024 television anime adaptation was produced by Yumeta Company and directed by Shin Katagai. The series design aimed to balance comedic light-novel sensibilities with high-fantasy action sequences, focusing on the visual contrast between the protagonist’s unassuming, middle-aged appearance and the overwhelming combat prowess he develops through rigorous training. Upon its release, it was received as a lighthearted contribution to the 'isekai' and adventure subgenres, noted for its focus on the mentor-student dynamic.
