Fuutarou, a part-time tutor, has taken on the task of guiding the Nakano sisters—quintessential beauties who are on the brink of flunking out of school and despise studying—until their graduation. With only six months left of their high school lives and the final summer vacation about to commence, he decides to take a break from his tutoring job during the summer break to focus on exam preparation.
While the quintuplets are disheartened by their inability to see Fuutarou, an unexpected phone call from him turns everything around! A 500% adorable romantic comedy, the summer vacation edition!

Where it came from
The Quintessential Quintuplets Specials, released in 2023, serve as an animated adaptation of the final chapters of Negi Haruba’s manga series that were previously omitted from the main broadcast run. Produced by Bibury Animation Studios and broadcast via TBS, these episodes were developed to provide closure to the narrative, specifically adapting the 'Scramble' arc of the school trip to Kyoto. The project sought to offer fans a more complete visual conclusion to the journey of Futaro Uesugi and the Nakano sisters.
The design and aesthetic continuity were maintained from the previous seasons, preserving the character archetypes and stylistic choices established by the animation team. While the series as a whole has received significant attention for its harem-romance tropes, these specials were positioned as a direct service to the fanbase, ensuring that pivotal manga moments were realized on screen. The reception was largely centered on the audience's desire for fidelity to the source material's ending.
