When Mafuyu Oribe and her adopted sister Tomo rescue a strange wounded man, they have no idea what they're getting involved with or what the consequences will be. Alexander Nikolaevith Hell is an Iron Qwaser, one of many opposing factions of super-warriors who can each draw upon the power of an element and wield it as an almost unstoppable array of weapons. And unfortunately for Mafuyu, Alexander's faction is there to gather the mystical relics known collectively as the High Circuit, which puts her friends, family and school at ground zero in a battle for the fate of all mankind! But there's an even more disturbing twist, as Qwasers require a special liquid diet to manifest their powers, one provided by the women who serve as a Qwaser's partner. And THAT means that the nursing Mafuyu's already given Alexander isn't the only kind of nursing he needs!

Where it came from
The Qwaser of Stigmata, produced by the studio Hoods Entertainment and released in 2010, is an anime adaptation of the manga series written by Hiroyuki Yoshino and illustrated by Kenetsu Sato. Emerging during a period when supernatural action series with stylized, provocative elements were gaining traction in the late-night television market, the series was designed to blend high-concept alchemical fantasy with intense kinetic combat sequences. The visual direction aimed to capitalize on the detailed character designs established in the original manga, emphasizing fluid movement and elaborate supernatural abilities.
Upon its release, the series garnered attention for its unconventional thematic approach, which combined religious symbolism with a unique power system based on the manipulation of chemical elements. While the series received mixed critical reception due to its polarizing tonal shifts and extreme content, it developed a dedicated niche following. The production by Hoods Entertainment served as a significant project for the studio at the time, reflecting a broader industry trend of adapting serialized manga that prioritized bold, boundary-pushing aesthetic choices to stand out in a crowded landscape.
