The Slayers Try

The Slayers Try was produced by E&G Films and released in 1997 as the third television season of the popular Slayers fantasy-comedy franchise. Following the success of the original series and Slayers Next, this installment sought to expand the scope of the narrative by introducing a new continent and a more pronounced focus on high-stakes adventure, moving away from the more localized plots of the earlier seasons. It served as a continuation of the adventures of Lina Inverse and her companions, aiming to maintain the character-driven humor and action-oriented pacing that defined the series.

The series was directed by Takashi Watanabe, a central figure in the franchise’s adaptation, who worked to balance the show's signature slapstick comedy with an increasingly mythic world-building aesthetic.
