1 year after the end of TV series, D'Artagnan had a drink with 3 musketeers and found that Jussac and the Cardinal's Guards harrassed a woman in a tavern in Paris. Of couse, they fought Jussac and the Cardinal`s guards and won. On his way to home, D'Artagnan witnessed the woman whom he rescued from Jussac about to jump into the river, and rescued her again. D'Artagnan brought her to home but she disappeared soon. After a day, D'Artagnan heard that the woman was killed last night and Rochefort and Cardinal's guards arrested him for murder because his hat was found by the woman's body. Where it came from
The Three Musketeers: Adventure of Aramis was produced by the Japanese studio Gakken and released in 1989. It emerged during a period of prolific Japanese animation production that frequently adapted classic Western literature for both domestic and international audiences. The film serves as a specific entry within a broader Gakken-produced series that sought to condense Dumas's sprawling narratives into accessible, animated features tailored for a younger demographic.
The animation reflects the aesthetic standards of late 1980s direct-to-video or television-intended features, prioritizing clear, functional character designs over the more experimental artistic styles found in contemporary theatrical anime. By focusing the title on Aramis, the production offered a character-centric distillation of the source material. It remains a minor curiosity in the history of Dumas adaptations, valued primarily by collectors interested in the global reach and pedagogical adaptations of classic literature in animation during the late 20th century.
