The series emerged during a period where Higashimura was cementing her status as a prominent voice in contemporary manga, following the significant success of her earlier acclaimed works. It was received as a witty contribution to the genre, praised for its character-driven humor and the author's ability to blend emotional sincerity with satirical situational comedy. Like much of her catalog, the design and layout prioritize readability and expressive character animation, which remain hallmarks of her storytelling approach.
