Kid Muscle (or Mantaro for short) is a bumbling, gross, and wimpy sort-of person. Unfortunately, he has been summoned to protect the earth from the evil dMp, a band of cheating wrestlers from outer space. Luckily he's not undertaking this task alone. Kid Muscle must join the Muscle League, a group of wrestlers from outer space who are training themselves so they can defend the earth, and stop the dMp by achieving "Ultimate Muscle", a hidden power that makes Mantaro an almost unbeatable opponent.

Where it came from
Ultimate Muscle, known in Japan as Kinnikuman: The Ultimate Muscle, was produced by Toei Animation and aired on TV Tokyo beginning in 2002. It serves as a direct sequel to the classic 1980s manga and anime series Kinnikuman, focusing on Kid Muscle, the son of the original protagonist. The series revitalized the franchise for a new generation by blending the traditional slapstick wrestling humor of the original with updated animation styles and a focus on the new generation of heroic fighters known as the New Generation Muscle League.
The series was directed by Toshiaki Komura and features character designs that retain the bold, exaggerated aesthetic of Yudetamago's original manga. It was developed to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the wrestling-themed fantasy genre in Japan. Upon its release, the show was well-received by fans of the original series and successfully transitioned into Western markets, where it gained a significant following for its unconventional protagonist and colorful cast of extraterrestrial wrestlers.
