The Royal Knight Academy was established to train the heirs and scions of the lands how to fight using the ancient mechanical dragons known as Drag-Rides. Those noble intentions, however, go royally astray when Lux, deposed prince of the Arcadia Empire, accidentally stumbles upon the Kingdom of Atismata's new Princess Lisesharte in her royal bath and sees altogether more than he should have. Challenged to a Drag-Ride duel when the Princess bares her anger, Lux finds himself thrust into a series of events that could ultimately expose the darkest secrets of both their royal families!

Where it came from
Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle, known in Japan as Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut, was produced by studio Lerche and released as a television anime series in 2016. Adapted from the light novel series by Senri Akatsuki, the show fits into the 'battle harem' subgenre, which gained significant traction in the mid-2010s. The narrative follows Lux Arcadia, a former prince who finds himself navigating an academy for knights piloting mechanical dragons known as Drag-Knights.
The production sought to balance high-stakes action with character-driven interpersonal dynamics, utilizing a visual aesthetic common to the era's light novel adaptations. While the series received mixed critical feedback regarding its adherence to established tropes of the genre, it was designed to appeal specifically to fans of fantasy-themed school settings and complex mechanical designs. The animation by Lerche aimed to provide a polished look for the aerial combat sequences, which serve as the centerpiece of the series.
