Where it came from
Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete: Ushinawareta Natsuyasumi wo Motomete is a special episode released in 2015 that serves as an original video animation accompaniment to the television anime adaptation of the visual novel created by TRUMPLE. Produced by studio feel., the episode was created to expand upon the melancholic, time-looping narrative of the series, offering a concluding or supplementary look at the characters' lives outside the intense constraints of the main plot.
The animation reflects the aesthetic established by the studio for the series, maintaining a focus on the sentimental, atmospheric tone that defined the original visual novel. While the parent series received mixed critical reception due to its dense pacing and complex plot structure, this special was intended to provide fans with a more relaxed, character-focused experience that explores the 'lost summer' themes inherent in the title.
