The story is set at Seitei Gakuen, an elite private academy that teaches every level from kindergarten until college in Tokyo. A new female teacher named Minami Yuuri is starting her second year of teaching here, and she is now moving up from teaching middle school students to the assignment she had sought after: grammar for high school students. Unfortunately, she gets assigned to class 3-E. The class, called "Class X," is an infamous group of seniors who lack study skills; it is said that all of their previous teachers have retired due to ulcers or neurosis. Minami must try to reach out to these students, including the six leaders of the class "B6" (Baka 6), and get them into college.

Where it came from
VitaminX Addiction was released in 2011 as a two-part original video animation series produced by Studio Nomad. It serves as an adaptation of the popular VitaminX otome visual novel franchise, which centers on a group of high school students known as the B6 and their unconventional academic journey. The production was intended to expand the multimedia presence of the brand, capitalizing on the series' established success in the character-driven narrative space.
The animation reflects the aesthetic conventions of late 2000s and early 2010s shoujo-style adaptations, prioritizing character-focused visual design to satisfy the existing fanbase. Studio Nomad focused on capturing the comedic and often chaotic interactions between the students and their teacher, maintaining the tonal balance of the original games. Upon release, the OVA was received primarily as a niche product tailored specifically for the dedicated player base of the franchise rather than a broad general audience.
