Where it came from
Watashitachi, Luck Logic-bu! was produced by Doga Kobo and released in 2016 as a companion piece to the Luck & Logic trading card game franchise. The series was designed as a lighthearted, short-form spin-off that introduced viewers to the mechanics and world-building of the main card game through comedic vignettes, aiming to lower the barrier to entry for potential players by emphasizing the personalities of the characters rather than the intense combat found in the primary anime adaptation.
The series features direction and character designs that prioritize accessibility and charm, maintaining the studio's reputation for clean, polished animation. By focusing on the daily lives and training sessions of the logicalists, the production sought to foster a stronger emotional connection between the audience and the card game's character roster. While it functioned primarily as promotional material for the collectible card game, it was well-received by fans of the franchise for its humor and its ability to expand the lore beyond the constraints of the main series' narrative.
