Where it came from
Weekender Girl is a song and accompanying music video featured in the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f rhythm game, developed by Sega and released for the PlayStation Vita in 2012. The track was composed by kz (livetune) and Hachioji-P, two prominent figures in the Vocaloid producer scene known for their electronic and dance-pop sensibilities. The song was created to serve as a high-energy addition to the franchise, capturing the spirit of a carefree weekend and the signature aesthetic of the virtual idol Hatsune Miku.
The music video was directed and illustrated by Mirai Nonaka, who utilized a distinct, vibrant visual style that highlights the energetic choreography associated with the track. The design focuses on a contemporary, youthful fashion sensibility that reflects the upbeat tempo of the composition. Upon its release, the song and its corresponding stage were well-received by the Project DIVA community for their polished production values and were subsequently included in later installments of the series, cementing its place as a fan-favorite entry in the broader Hatsune Miku catalog.
