Second of three compilation films of the Kuroko no Basket franchise.
Seirin faces off with Yosen in the quarter finals of the Winter Cup. Facing Yosen’s impenetrable defense with Murasakibara at its center, Kuroko manages to shoot his first point. Meanwhile, the ace battle between Kagami and Himuro also heats up. An intense battle is held until the very end. Next, Seirin faces off with Kaijo in the semi finals. Cautious of Kaijo's ace, Kise, and his Perfect Copy ability, Seirin works fast and hard to take the lead. Kise hurts his leg and is benched, so Seirin thinks they now have their chance, but then Kaijo shows them exactly what they can do even without Kise.

Where it came from
Released in 2016, this compilation film serves as a focused retrospective of the Winter Cup tournament from the popular sports anime Kuroko's Basketball. Produced by Studio I.G, the project was designed to distill the high-stakes intensity of the series' secondary season into a cohesive cinematic experience. It emerged during a period when the franchise was actively expanding its footprint through theatrical events, allowing fans to revisit the pivotal matches and emotional arcs that defined the rivalry between Seirin High and their formidable opponents.
The film centers on the narrative theme of overcoming adversity, specifically highlighting the growth of the protagonists as they navigate the physical and psychological toll of championship-level competition. Studio I.G utilized its signature high-energy animation style to emphasize the fast-paced basketball choreography that made the original series a benchmark for the genre. Upon its release, it was received as a nostalgic companion piece for established followers, successfully maintaining the dramatic tone established by the television broadcast while streamlining the tournament's climax.
