Xia Jia Lingyi Lu

Xia Jia Lingyi Lu, also known as The Illuminated Records of Xia, is a 2022 Chinese original net animation produced by Bilibili. Developed during a period of rapid growth for the Chinese animation industry, the series was conceived as a supernatural anthology that blends traditional folklore with contemporary urban fantasy aesthetics. Its creation reflects the studio's broader initiative to invest in high-quality, atmospheric storytelling that leverages sophisticated digital artistry to appeal to a demographic interested in speculative fiction.

The visual direction of the series emphasizes a distinct, polished animation style characterized by evocative lighting and detailed character designs that draw heavily from both modern web-novel conventions and classical Chinese art influences. It was received as a stylish entry within the platform's diverse catalogue, noted by viewers for its moody pacing and its commitment to exploring episodic narratives rather than a single overarching plot. The production serves as a notable example of the stylistic maturation of Bilibili's internal animation projects.
