YES,YOU

Yes, You (often referred to as 'Yes! Precure 5') is a prominent installment in the long-running magical girl anime franchise produced by Toei Animation and broadcast by NHK's affiliated networks. The series launched in 2007 as the fourth generation of the franchise, marking a shift toward team-based dynamics rather than the previous duo-focused narratives. It was conceptualized to revitalize the brand by emphasizing themes of friendship, courage, and personal growth while introducing a distinct 'butterfly' aesthetic that set it apart from its predecessors.

The character designs were overseen by Toshie Kawamura, who aimed for a more mature and fashionable look compared to earlier iterations. Kawamura sought to balance the traditional transformation sequences with a sense of grounded high-school life, resulting in designs that felt aspirational yet relatable to the target demographic. Upon its release, the series received critical praise for its character development and high-quality animation, successfully cementing the franchise's longevity and becoming a foundational pillar for the subsequent Precure series.
