Where it came from
Yong Zhe Da Maoxian, also known as Brave Adventure, was produced by the Chinese animation studio CG Year and released as an ONA in 2016. The series emerged during a period of significant growth for domestic 3D animation in China, characterized by a concerted effort to blend traditional fantasy tropes with modern, high-fidelity computer-generated aesthetics to appeal to both younger demographics and the growing online streaming audience.
The production utilized stylized 3D character modeling and dynamic action choreography to establish a distinct visual identity within the crowded landscape of Chinese web-based series. The narrative focuses on exploration and high-fantasy quests, reflecting common thematic interests in Chinese web literature of the mid-2010s. Upon its release, it was noted for its technical ambition, serving as a prominent example of how emerging studios were leveraging improved software workflows to produce serialized content for digital platforms.
