Yonhyakunijuu Renpai Girl

Yonhyakunijuu Renpai Girl was produced by Studio Trigger in 2013 as part of the initial wave of projects following the studio's departure from Gainax. Created during a period of creative experimentation for the young studio, this work served as a showcase for their signature high-energy animation style and distinct character design aesthetics. It was released as a special, intended to highlight the technical agility and visual flair that would eventually define the studio's approach to experimental shorts.

The project is noted for its idiosyncratic visual direction, which emphasizes dynamic movement and saturated palettes, elements that were instrumental in establishing Studio Trigger's brand identity. By focusing on stylized, kinetic storytelling, the creators aimed to push the boundaries of traditional animation conventions of the era. Critically, it was received as a promising technical exercise, marking a significant step in the studio's development of a cohesive and recognizable house style.
