Aberdare Cisticola

The Aberdare Cisticola, scientifically known as Cisticola aberdare, is a bird species endemic to the high-altitude grasslands of the Aberdare Range in central Kenya. It was first described by Lynes in 1930, emerging from the early twentieth-century era of ornithological exploration that sought to catalog the unique biodiversity of East Africa's isolated mountain massifs. As a member of the Cisticolidae family, the bird occupies a highly specialized niche, requiring specific tussock grasses at elevations typically exceeding 2,300 meters.
