Asian Fairy-bluebird

The Asian Fairy-bluebird (Irena puella) is a medium-sized, arboreal passerine bird native to the tropical forests of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Classified within the monotypic family Irenidae, it was first formally described by the English ornithologist John Latham in 1790. Its name reflects its striking, vivid plumage, which has long fascinated naturalists who studied the biodiversity of the Indo-Malayan realm.

The bird's distinct morphology—characterized by its rounded wings and rounded tail—is an evolutionary adaptation suited for its life in dense forest canopies.
