Australian Yellow White-eye

The Australian Yellow White-eye, scientifically known as Zosterops luteus, was formally described by John Gould in 1843. This small passerine bird is native to the coastal mangroves and adjacent scrublands of northern Australia, ranging from Western Australia to the Gulf of Carpentaria. Its evolution within these specialized habitats has shaped its distinct morphology, characterized by the species' signature rounded wings and tail, which are adaptations for maneuvering through dense foliage.
