Bare-shanked Screech-Owl

The Bare-shanked Screech-Owl, scientifically classified as Megascops clarkii, was formally described by the ornithologist Philip Sclater and Osbert Salvin in 1868. Native to the humid montane forests of Costa Rica and Panama, this elusive bird occupies a niche within the high-elevation cloud forests.
