Black Eagle

The black eagle, scientifically known as Ictinaetus malaiensis, is a distinct bird of prey native to the tropical forests of South and Southeast Asia. Unlike many other raptors that soar in open spaces, this species has evolved specifically to navigate the dense canopy layers of its habitat. It is recognized for its unique hunting strategy, which involves hovering low over tree crowns to raid the nests of other birds, a specialized behavior that has fascinated ornithologists since the species was first formally described by Coenraad Jacob Temminck in 1822.
