Black-headed Siskin

The Black-headed Siskin, or Spinus notatus, is a member of the finch family native to the montane pine and oak forests of Mexico and parts of Central America. Within the broader context of ornithological history, the species was formally described by the French naturalist and ornithologist Adolphe-Simon Mazé in the mid-19th century.
