Black-throated Babbler

The Black-throated Babbler, or Stachyris nigricollis, is a passerine bird native to the lowland forests and peat swamps of the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. First formally described by the ornithologist Coenraad Jacob Temminck in 1836, the species emerged within the context of nineteenth-century European naturalists systematically documenting the biodiversity of the Malay Archipelago.
