Blue-crowned Hanging-Parrot

The Blue-crowned Hanging-Parrot, Loriculus galgulus, is a small psittacine native to the tropical rainforests of the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. Named for the distinct iridescent blue patch atop its head, this species is defined by its compact, rounded wing and tail structure, which facilitates its characteristic rapid, direct flight through dense canopy foliage.
