The Bright-rumped Yellow-Finch, or Sicalis uropygialis, is a species native to the high-altitude Andean regions of South America, primarily inhabiting the puna grasslands. It was formally described by the French naturalist Jean Cabanis in the mid-19th century, a period marked by intense European ornithological exploration of the Neotropics.
