Fulvous-chinned Nunlet

The Fulvous-chinned Nunlet, Nonnula sclateri, is a species of puffbird in the Bucconidae family, first formally described by the ornithologist Philip Sclater. It is native to the humid lowland forests of the western Amazon basin, specifically inhabiting regions across Peru and Brazil. Its design is an evolutionary response to the dense understory of the rainforest, featuring a subtle, brownish-rufous plumage that provides essential camouflage against tree bark and foliage.
