Gould's Shortwing

Gould’s Shortwing, scientifically classified as Heteroxenicus stellatus, was formally described by the ornithologist John Gould in the 19th century. Part of a genus known for its reclusive nature in the dense undergrowth of the Himalayas and surrounding mountain ranges, the species is defined by its compact, rounded wings and short, rounded tail, which facilitate rapid, short-distance navigation through thickets rather than sustained flight.
