Gray-breasted Seedsnipe

The Gray-breasted Seedsnipe, Thinocorus orbignyianus, is a member of the Thinocoridae family, a group of ground-dwelling birds found primarily in the high-altitude regions of the Andes. These birds evolved to thrive in harsh, alpine environments, where their specific physiological adaptations—including their broad wings and rounded tails—allow for short, efficient flights between patches of low-lying vegetation across the high-altitude plateaus of South America.
