Henna-hooded Foliage-gleaner

The Henna-hooded Foliage-gleaner, scientifically classified as Clibanornis erythrocephalus, is a member of the Furnariidae family endemic to the humid forests of southwestern Ecuador and northwestern Peru. Its discovery and subsequent classification occurred within the context of 19th-century ornithological expeditions focused on the high-biodiversity Tumbesian region. The species was formally described by Chapman in 1919, following a period where researchers sought to categorize the unique, fragmented avian populations living in the rapidly transitioning habitats of the Andean foothills.
