Lemon-bellied Flyrobin

The Lemon-bellied Flyrobin, scientifically classified as Microeca flavigaster, is a species of passerine bird native to the northern regions of Australia and parts of southern New Guinea. It was formally described in 1843 by the naturalist John Gould, who documented its presence in the eucalyptus woodlands and riverine forests where it remains a familiar, insectivorous presence. The species is characterized by its distinctively rounded wings and notched tail, features that assist in its characteristic sallies from low perches to capture airborne prey.
