Lesser Black-backed Gull

The Lesser Black-backed Gull, Larus fuscus, is a species defined by its extensive migratory patterns across Europe and the Atlantic. These birds were historically recognized by ornithologists as distinct from the larger Great Black-backed Gull due to their slimmer silhouette and specific seasonal movements, which see them traveling from northern breeding grounds as far as the Mediterranean and sub-Saharan Africa.
