Little Hermit

The Little Hermit, scientifically identified as Phaethornis longuemareus, is a member of the Trochilidae family native to the humid forests and scrublands of South America, particularly within the Guiana Shield and the Amazon basin. It was formally described in 1821 by the French naturalist René Primevère Lesson, who sought to categorize the vast diversity of Neotropical hummingbirds during a period of intense ornithological exploration.
