Little Gull

The Little Gull, scientifically known as Hydrocoloeus minutus, is the smallest species of gull in the world. Evolutionarily, it occupies a unique niche, favoring inland wetlands and coastal marshes across the Palearctic region for breeding. Its distinct morphology, characterized by pointed, dark-underwinged wings and a gently forked tail, reflects an adaptation for agile, tern-like flight maneuvers used when catching insects on the wing.
