Obscure Berrypecker

The Obscure Berrypecker, Melanocharis arfakiana, is a member of the Melanocharitidae family, a group of passerine birds endemic to the island of New Guinea. First described by taxonomists in the late 19th century, this species is noted for its secretive, montane forest habitat, which contributed to its historical scarcity in biological records.
