Pere David's Laughingthrush

Pere David's Laughingthrush, scientifically known as Pterorhinus davidi, is a passerine bird native to the temperate forests of central and northern China. It was named in honor of the French missionary and naturalist Armand David, who documented numerous unique species during his explorations of China in the 19th century. The bird was classified as part of the Leiothrichidae family, reflecting the broader taxonomical efforts of European naturalists to categorize East Asian avifauna during a period of intense biological discovery.
