Pinon's Imperial-Pigeon

The Pinon's Imperial-Pigeon, scientifically identified as Ducula pinon, belongs to the diverse Columbidae family and is primarily native to the lowland rainforests of New Guinea and its surrounding islands. It was first described by the French naturalist Coenraad Jacob Temminck in 1824, who named it in honor of the French voyager Émile Piñon.
