Scaled Chachalaca

The Scaled Chachalaca, known scientifically as Ortalis squamata, is a member of the Cracidae family endemic to the Atlantic forests of eastern Brazil. It was formally described in the 19th century and is recognized for its distinct, subtly patterned plumage that provides camouflage within the dense canopy layers of its native habitat.
