Scaly-naped Pigeon

The Scaly-naped Pigeon, Patagioenas squamosa, is a species native to the Caribbean, widely distributed across islands such as Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, and the Lesser Antilles. Its evolution within the Columbidae family has resulted in distinct physical characteristics, including its signature rounded wings and tail, which are specialized for navigating the dense canopy and mountainous terrain of its tropical habitat.
