Sclater's Tyrannulet

The Sclater's Tyrannulet (Phyllomyias sclateri) was formally described by the ornithologist Hans von Berlepsch in 1901. It is a small passerine bird within the tyrant flycatcher family, named in honor of the British zoologist Philip Lutley Sclater. The species is endemic to the humid montane forests of the eastern Andes, primarily found in portions of Peru and Bolivia, where its subtle olive and yellow plumage serves as an adaptation to the dappled light of the forest canopy.
