Silvery Wood-Pigeon

The Silvery Wood-Pigeon, scientifically known as Columba argentina, is a rare avian species historically native to the small islands off the coasts of western Borneo, Sumatra, and the Riau Archipelago. It was first formally described by Charles Lucien Bonaparte in 1855, emerging from an era of intensive 19th-century ornithological exploration where naturalists documented the unique biodiversity of the Malay Archipelago.
