Spot-throated Babbler

The Spot-throated Babbler, Pellorneum albiventre, is a small passerine bird native to the diverse landscapes of Northeast India, Myanmar, and Southeast Asia. First described by Godwin-Austen in 1876, the species is historically associated with the rich avian taxonomy established during the 19th-century exploration of the Himalayan foothills and the Brahmaputra Valley. It thrives primarily in dense undergrowth, grasslands, and marshes, occupying a niche within the Pellorneidae family known for birds that are often heard before they are seen.
