Streaked Bulbul

The Streaked Bulbul, or Ixos malaccensis, is a passerine bird native to the Sundaic region, specifically found in the lowland forests of the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. As a member of the Pycnonotidae family, its evolutionary development reflects a specialized adaptation to dense, humid tropical canopies. Taxonomically described in the 19th century, the species is defined by its distinct streaked plumage and rounded wing and tail morphology, which facilitate the short-burst, maneuverable flight required to navigate thick forest undergrowth.
