Western Reef-Heron

The Western Reef-Heron, scientifically identified as Egretta gularis, is a species of heron native to the coastal regions of western Africa, the Red Sea, and the Persian Gulf. Evolutionarily, its development has been driven by the need for specialized coastal foraging, resulting in its distinct narrow wing shape and pointed tail, which provide the agility required for hunting in turbulent tidal zones.
