White-bibbed Manakin

The White-bibbed Manakin, scientifically known as Corapipo leucorrhoa, is a passerine bird native to the humid forests of Costa Rica and western Panama. First described by the British ornithologist Philip Sclater in 1863, the species emerged within the Pipridae family, a group renowned for the elaborate courtship displays of the males. Its name derives from the distinctive patch of white feathers on the throat, which contrasts sharply against the otherwise dark plumage of the male.

The physical design of this bird is marked by its rounded wings and a distinctively notched tail, anatomical features that facilitate the rapid, acrobatic flight necessary for its aerial displays.
