White-collared Jay

The White-collared Jay, Cyanolyca viridicyanus, is a member of the Corvidae family, native to the humid montane forests of the Andes in Peru and Bolivia. Ornithologically, it is recognized for its striking cobalt-blue plumage and the distinct white band across its throat, which informs its common name. The species occupies a niche in high-altitude cloud forests, typically at elevations between 2,000 and 3,500 meters, where it operates as a social and highly vocal inhabitant of the canopy.
